genesis
NOTA was born from a simple need: to create a working structure that goes beyond the individual, while embracing a way of thinking that is clear, constructed, and articulated.
The name plays on words: “NOT A,” as in “not Andy,” is a deliberate step back from the figure of the ego-architect. It’s not a personal studio, but a framework open to other voices and ways of doing.
"Nota" also stands for the note — the first trace of a project, a unit of intelligible thought, the moment when intuition takes shape in language. A note bridges the gap between idea and reality, a threshold between what is conceived and what can be built.
NOTA embraces this position: to think before drawing, to articulate before shaping.
values
Founded in 2023, the practice is dedicated to crafting buildings and built spaces that enter into dialogue with their context, enrich the life of each place, and carry the collective memory of the individuals and communities they shelter.
Every project is shaped by an awareness of the past, rooted in the present, and oriented toward the future.
The precision of proportions, carefully measured scale, thoughtful arrangement of volumes, and purity of line form the core of our architectural language. Our rigorous selection of materials and exacting assembly techniques reveal the tectonics of the building process.
Mindful of the fragility of our resources and the urgency of climate change, we strive to conceive durable, adaptable structures designed to age gracefully, serving first their creators, then the many users who will inhabit them.
We believe that the soul of a building awakens when technical rigor and creative sensitivity converge, forging a living, balanced architecture imbued with poetry.
